Word Level Work: Spelling conventions and rules

  • Adding ing to verbs 1:
    Word Level Objective 8: How the spellings of verbs alter when ing is added. (Typical verbs)

  • Adding ing to verbs 2:
    Word Level Objective 8: How the spellings of verbs alter when ing is added. (Verbs ending in e)

  • Adding ing to verbs 3:
    Word Level Objective 8: How the spellings of verbs alter when ing is added. (Verbs with short vowels)

  • Adding ing to verbs 4:
    Word Level Objective 8: How the spellings of verbs alter when ing is added. (A mixture of the rules in exercises 1 to 3)

  • Common Prefixes:
    Word Level Objective 10: recognise and spell common prefixes and how these influence word meanings.

  • Antonyms:
    Word Level Objective 11: use knowledge of prefixes to generate new words from root words, especially antonyms.
